At Katmai Air, we operate float plane (also known as ‘sea planes’) charters out of our offices in King Salmon (located on the Naknek River) and Anchorage (located on Lake Hood).
Depending on your needs, float plane charters are available on the following aircraft.
DeHavilland Otter
Capable of carrying up to ten passengers with a payload of up to 3,000 pounds, our turbine engine Otters are ideal for transporting large groups of passengers or heavy loads across remote Alaska.
DeHavilland Beaver
Capable of carrying up to seven passengers with a payload of up to 1500 pounds, the DeHavilland Beaver is considered the work horse of bush Alaska. At Katmai Air, we operate two float equipped beavers, both of which are available for charter.
Cessna 206
Capable of carrying up to five passengers with a payload of up to 1,000 pounds, our Cessna 206’s are ideal for smaller groups with lighter loads looking to reduce charter costs.
Float Plane Charter Rates
Our float plane charter rates are calculated by an hourly rate and dependent upon a number of factors including aircraft used, number of passengers, location, etc.
